• DOG TRAINING

  · All game birds purchased and released within 14 days for dog training must be obtained from a Captive Wildlife Permit holder or licensed nonresident breeder and must be banded with Commission approved bands before release. Any person who purchases game birds from a Captive Wildlife Permit holder must have a sales receipt or tag in their possession. The date, species and number must be on this tag. Persons may hold these game birds for a period not to exceed 14 days from date of purchase. This sales tag or receipt is to be returned to the Game and Parks Commission within 14 days. Only pen-raised 2 hen pheasants, 5 quail, unlimited number of partridge, unlimited number of mallards and unlimited number of pigeons may be released per dog for a dog training session. A training session is one day, sunrise to sunset.

• DOG FIELD TRIALS AND HUNT TESTS

· All game birds purchased and released within 14 days for field trials and hunt tests must be obtained from a Captive Wildlife Permit holder or licensed nonresident breeder and must be banded with Commission approved bands before release. Any person who purchases game birds from a Captive Wildlife Permit holder must have a sales receipt or tag in their possession. The date, species and number must be on this tag. Persons holding a valid Sporting Dog Trial authorization may hold pen-raised birds for a period not to exceed fourteen (14) days beyond the date of purchase. This sales tag or receipt is to be returned to the Game and Parks Commission within 30 days.

• RECALL PENS
  · All game birds used in a recall pen must be purchased from a Captive Wildlife Permit holder or licensed nonresident breeder and must be banded with Commission approved bands before release.  All recall pens must have the owners name, address, telephone number and recall permit number visible on each pen. Users of recall pens must have a Recall Pen Permit in possession. All recall pen permits expire on December 31 of each calendar year.  All wild birds that accidently enter recall pens must be immediately released.
