Teaming With Wildlife ( http://www.teaming.com/) is a national coalition of organizations and businesses that support dedicated funding for wildlife conservation, education and nature-based recreation.
The coalition was started in the late 1990s and was successful in securing federal funding for fish and wildlife conservation through the State Wildlife Grants Program. Since 2001, Nebraska has received over $5.5 million to conduct planning and implement conservation actions to conserve at-risk wildlife and their habitats.
The coalition currently includes nearly 5,000 organizations/businesses nationally and nearly 200 organizations/businesses in Nebraska. Teaming with Wildlife is one of the largest grassroots coalitions ever assembled to support wildlife conservation. The need for funding has never been more urgent as Nebraska's conservation and agricultural communities begin implementing the Nebraska Natural Legacy Plan, the state's first comprehensive plan to conserve wildlife and their habitats.
The Nebraska Natural Legacy plan identified more than 500 species considered to be at-risk and proposes more than 100 voluntary incentive-based conservation measures that are needed to conserve Nebraska's biological diversity. If you are a member of an organization or own a business and value wildlife, consider joining the Teaming With Wildlife coalition. There is no cost to join and it is as simple as completing and returning the TWW endorsement form. By doing so you will be giving a voice to fish and wildlife and will be helping ensure there are sustainable wildlife populations for future generations.
