Land and Water Conservation Fund ProjectsThe Land and Water Conservation Fund has provided matching funds for 365 communities and political subdivisions between 1965 when the program started and 1995, the last year Nebraska received funding. 36 million LWCF dollars have been spent in Nebraska have for outdoor recreation projects. Over 37,000 state parks and recreation projects have been completed nationally since 1965. It is difficult to go to any community today and not find at least one Land and Water Conservation project from the last 34 years. This fund will truly improve the quality of life for all Nebraskans and benefit our wildlife resources.
