Labor Day Weekend  

Our pools will be open through Labor Day with the following schedule:

Chadron SP:  Open daily 1-7:30 pm thru Aug. 16, after that weekends only (Sat.-Sun.) 1-6 pm through Labor Day.
Ft. Robinson SP: Pool is open July 30-Aug. 3, then Aug. 10, 13-17,
1-5 & 6-8:30 pm.
Mahoney SP:  M-W-F 4-8 pm Closed T-TH, Sat.- Sun. Noon-5 pm & 6-8 pm.,  Mon. Sept. 7 (Labor Day) pool hours are Noon-5 pm & 6-8 pm.
Platte River SP:  Sat.-Sun. 1-7 pm only
Ponca SP: weekends only Sat.-Sun. 1-6 pm through Labor Day
Niobrara SP
The Niobrara State Park swimming pool will be open on weekends only until Sept. 6. Hours are 10 am – 2 pm.

Niobrara State Park
Sept. 12, 8 pm - 3rd Annual Night Owl 5K Run / Walk

The Third Annual "Night Owl 5K" at the scenic Niobrara State Park will take place Sat., Sept. 12 at dusk (approximately 8 pm). Running by the light of the moon and the illumination of their headlamps*, participants will run/walk 3.2 miles on the Cross Country Trail overlooking the Missouri River in the Niobrara State Park located just west of Niobrara, NE. This nighttime event will be a unique challenge for runners/walkers of all abilities and a great way to spend an early fall evening. Register here.

*ILLUMINATION: Headlamps will not be provided, but are strongly recommended for trail illumination, so BYOH — Bring Your Own Headlamp!

Voluntary Firewood Restriction
Help Prevent Emerald Ash Borers in Nebraska

The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is a serious pest that is near Nebraska’s border.  Your cooperation is needed to help prevent EAB from invading Nebraska woodlands and landscapes.
If you have brought firewood from another state, please burn it immediately and DO NOT transport it to another location. In addition to the Voluntary Firewood Restriction a Voluntary Firewood Exchange is in affect at Niobrara SP, Ponca SP, E.T. Mahoney SP, Indian Cave SP and Pawnee SRA, Lewis and Clark SRA, Two Rivers SRA and Branched Oak SRA.
