Telecheck Program

Telecheck is closed during the November firearm deer season.

The Nebraska Telecheck Program allows hunters to check deer or antelope by telephone or online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All deer harvested outside the November firearm season MUST be checked via Telecheck as manual check stations will only be available for the November firearm season. Antelope archers, muzzleloaders and late season hunters must use Telecheck.

Legal Methods of Take:

Firearm- 22 caliber or larger with minimum of 900 ft lbs. energy at 100 yds. and 357 magnum rifles and 45 colt rifles, and shotguns 20 gauge or larger with single projectile and handguns with minimum of 400 ft lbs at 50 yds.

Muzzleloader Permits -45 caliber or larger with single projectile.
Archery Permits - Arrows must have sharpened points with a minimum of 9/16 cutting radius.

Spear - Handthrown/Atlatl Shooting Hours:
30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset Requirements:

Habitat Stamp - for all nonresidents and for residents 16 years or older
Telecheck Program- Check deer or antelope by telephone or online 24/7
Apprentice Certificate - available once in your lifetime for those who must have but have not yet completed the education requirements. Firearm and crossbow hunters under age 12 or those using an exemption certificate can never hunt alone and must be accompanied at all times while hunting by a licensed hunter age 19 or older and if that hunter is 19 through 29 they must have completed education and carry proof. Accompanied means you must be in unaided verbal and visual communications at all times.
