Drawings Held for Half Price Youth Permits
In an effort to reverse the declining sales of hunting and fishing permits, the Foundation established the Youth Lifetime Permit Program. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission offers drawings for lifetime hunting and fishing permits at one-half the regular fee to Nebraska youth at many events throughout the state. The Foundation then matches the cost of the other half of the permit.
Drawings are often held at the local chapter banquets of conservation groups such as Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, The National Wild Turkey Federation, Whitetails Unlimited and other archery, angling, trapping and taxidermy clubs. (Check with your local conservation organization for more information on a drawing near you)

There are three ways you can hold a drawing:
- A Basic Drawing - Your organization can choose to let the winner pay the remaining half of the permit they win.
- A Sponsored Drawing - Your organization voluntarily pays for half of the permit ( with our Foundation paying the other half) allowing the winner to get a completely free permit.
- A Fundraiser Drawing - You may choose to charge an entry fee for the drawing as a way to raise funds for your organization or event. Funds generated from entry fees may be kept by your organization OR applied to the cost of the remaining half of the permit.
Please see the 2015 Rules for more information about types of drawings.
Nebraska youth ages 15 and under can be entered in each of the drawings. If their name is drawn they (or their parents) will have the opportunity to purchase, at half-price, one of the following:
- A lifetime Nebraska fishing permit
- A lifetime Nebraska hunting permit
- A lifetime Nebraska combination hunting/fishing permit
- A lifetime Nebraska habitat stamp
- A lifetime Nebraska migratory waterfowl stamp
Individuals attending any of these events may enter youngsters in the drawing by filling out an application form at designated events. The application forms are collected and the winning applications will be randomly drawn the week following the event. The winners will then be notified and payment for the permit will be accepted at that time.
The lifetime permit is the bargain of a lifetime and to enter for a chance to win one at half the normal price is well worth the time it takes to fill out the application. The permit and stamps offer virtually unlimited recreational opportunities, they eliminate the need for the annual purchase of small game hunt, resident fur harvest, fishing or combination hunt/fish permits.
The added bonus from the proceeds of these permits is that the money that is raised from the sale of these permits goes into an escrow account from which only the interest may be withdrawn for use each year. This means it is a "Win Win" situation for the recipient as well as conservation efforts in the state.
Wildlife and Fisheries Management can enjoy an increasingly stable financial base as the years go by and we encourage youth to embrace and enjoy the outdoor lifestyle and grow our base of hunting enthusiasts for the future.
No purchase necessary to enter drawing (separate admission fee may be charged at some events). Entry forms must be filled out in person at the event. Nebraska residents only.
Winners may purchase only one half-price lifetime permit per drawing. Winning
entry is non-transferable. Unborn children are not eligible. Entering this drawing
is not an obligation to purchase.
