Here's some ways to get involved with fishing in your community. Game and Parks volunteers, staff and other local fishing experts attend the events listed below and are on hand to offer hands-on fishing tips. Bait, fishing poles and tackle are also provided to those who do not own equipment.

  • Family Fishing Nights - 2013 was the third summer for the program which focuses on outdoor learning and immersion into the sport of fishing. It is a great event for adults or children and Game and Parks has added more experiences and opportunities to learn than ever before. Events will be held at venues across the state. Look for the Family Fishing Trailer where loaner rods and reels, bait and fishing instruction are available free to participants. This is the perfect opportunity for people of all ages who have never been fishing or haven't fished for years to learn. Here's a 2014 Family Fishing Nights schedule!
