Beginning Bird Watching - April 5, 2014

Bird watching is a simple and fun way to get outside and enjoy every season in Nebraska. Come learn the basics of bird watching - where to go, when to go, and how to actually identify what you find. This is a great class for beginners or women just venturing out into the birding world. Bring your binoculars if you have them, or we will have several pair to borrow.

Experience Platte River State Park-Sat, April 26, 2014 Near Louisville - FULL

Registration is closed for this event - Horseback riding for beginners should be fun and relaxing. Join our skilled instructors in learning introductory riding skills, care and how to groom a horse. You will love horseback riding through the park's scenic trails –what a great way to experience nature! This day long workshop will also include learning archery and shooting skills (shotguns and rifles) on the range. The fun will not stop there, as you will end the day over the fire making a Dutch oven meal for supper!

For any woman who wants to learn how to shoot and increase their knowledge of handguns, see a variety of handguns available, meet other women who shoot or just have fun!

Experience Fort Robinson State Park - May 16-18, 2014

Enjoy Nebraska's beautiful pine ridge by horseback, hiking, and kayaking/fishing. Stay at Nebraska's most important historic site--Fort Robinson State Park. Take a horseback ride through the scenic park trails and learn riding skills and how to care for and groom a horse. Learn about hiking and take the opportunity to trek up the bluffs to enjoy great views. Enjoy spending time at the pond for a fun afternoon of kayaking and fishing. One of the days ends with a delicious meal in the Dutch oven for supper. Come and enjoy a weekend of fun activities and breathtaking views!

Anyone wanting to explore the sport of canoeing, we have the boat,
paddle and life-jacket ready for you to learn how to canoe. This fun
workshop will cover basic skills, safety, how to get in your canoe, launching
and docking, equipment and team paddling.

Beyond BOW Geocaching - June 14, 2014

GeoCaching is a fun and interactive way to explore the outdoors! We will learn how GeoCaching uses hand-held GPS units to find a hidden treasure in nature. We will have the GPS units, the hidden cache, and an enthusiastic leader who will lead you on a fun (and not too hard) adventure! A high-tech scavenger hunt is waiting for you!

Introduction to Trap, Skeet, 5-Stand and Clays - June 21, 2014

Spend an afternoon on the shotgun range with the ladies. Learn basic shotgunning or come touch up on your shooting skills. Workshop will include an introduction to trap, skeet, 5-stand and sporting clays – main venues to shotgun entertainment. Novice and experienced shooters are welcome to attend.

Becoming an Outdoors Family - Two Rivers SRA -June 28-29, 2014

Becoming an Outdoors-Family is a workshop focused on learning basic outdoor skills to help you and your family enjoy the outdoors. Skills taught are related to a variety of outdoor sports such as fishing, camping, kayaking, archery, hunting and hiking.
Another goal is to provide families an opportunity to reconnect with each other and the outdoors in a comfortable, safe and relaxed setting. We welcome all types of families to participate. Bring your grandchild, niece or nephew, or big brother/sister and join us. Expert instructors will teach these classes. Instructors begin each class with the basics, providing hands-on experience and encourage all participants to ask questions and try the skill, focusing on fun!

Summer Walleye Fishing, Lake McConaughy June 28, 2014

No experience necessary for fishing - our guides will help teach walleye fishing techniques, tackle, bait, and equipment use and all the how to's, why and where to fish, time of day and the secrets of catching lunker walleye at Big Mac. All tackle is provided unless you have your favorites to bring along. Dress for summertime and bring your rain gear, bug spray, lots of sunscreen and be ready to learn from some of the best walleye anglers.

Beyond BOW is designed to teach more advanced skills. The small group atmosphere enables one-on-one instruction that achieves safety, education and personal assurance in a non-threatening environment. A Beyond Bow event may take place in one afternoon, over a weekend or over several evenings.
