Branched Oak State Recreation Area

Branched Oak State Recreation Area is 2 miles north of Malcolm in Lancaster County and is the largest of the Salt Valley Lakes near Lincoln, encompassing 5,595 acres with 1,800 acres of water.  The park offers 3 targets located on the south side of the lake in Area 2 north of the equestrian campground.  This area is open year round and available for those with their own archery equipment. 402-783-3400

Schramm State Recreation Area and Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium

Larry Elston Archery Range is located in Schramm State Recreation Area and is located about 6 miles south of I-80 exit 432 in Sarpy County.  The 330-acre Schramm Park SRA is another picturesque Platte River area and also the home of Ak-Sar-Ben Aquarium.  The Larry Elston Archery Range is an outdoor range open year round located south of the aquarium just past the 4-H camp entrance.  The Range offers various archery challenges for those that have their own equipment and encompasses a target range, a roving field course and an elevated tower range.

Platte River State Park

Roger G. Sykes Outdoor Heritage Complex is a family friendly activity center featuring shooting experiences for all ages. Focus is on safety and family fun! This new facility accommodates several shooting disciplines, including an archery range with shooting tower, a 50 yard - small bore rifle range, a trap range with 5 stand feature and an indoor 10 meter pellet gun range. The ranges were created with everyone in mind, regardless of size, ability or skill level, as well as those who looking for a fun and a unique challenge.  Platte River State Park is located 2 miles south of Louisville in Cass County.  Equipment is provided by the Outdoor Heritage Complex.  See the website for hours of operation  http//www.outdoornebraska.ne.gov/OHEC/

Ponca State Park

Ponca State Park's Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex is open to the public year round and is located in northeast Nebraska along the Missouri River just south of Sioux City in Dixon County.  The Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex is an outdoor range and is part of a wide variety of outdoor education programs offered at the park.  Weekly educational  events and activities are scheduled from Spring to Fall.  You may bring your own equipment or check with park for scheduled programming. 402-755-2284

Willow Creek State Recreation Area

Willow Creek is located in northeast Nebraska, 1 ½ miles SW of Pierce in Pierce County.    It has 1,633 acres with a 700 acre lake.  Willow Creek has a 14 target outdoor course open year round and is located in the northeast entrance of the park just east of the north boat ramp.  Bring your own archery equipment.

Summit Lake State Recreation Area

Summit Lake is located in northeast Nebraska, 2 miles west of Tekamah in Burt County.  It has 345 acres with a 190 acre lake.  Summit Lake has 3 outdoor archery targets that are open year round and located next to the entrance of the park.  Bring your own archery equipment. 402-374-1727

Long Pine State Recreation Area

Long Pine is a 153-acre tract of Pine Ridge land straddling Long Pine Creek in Brown County, north central Nebraska.   The beautiful park has an outdoor range with 13 assorted targets located on the north side of Hwy. 20.  Bring your own archery equipment. 402-684-2921

Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area

Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area is Nebraska's largest reservoir located 11 miles north of Ogallala on Hwy 61 N in Keith County.  The recreation area has an outdoor archery range open year round except closed during rifle deer season.  The range is located 1 mile west on the Burma Road Access off Highway 61 North, right across the street from the Lake McConaughy Visitor's Center. It has 12 targets with mulched paths.  Bring your own archery equipment. 308-284-8800

Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center

The Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center is located at 4703 N. 44th Street (44th and Superior) in the City of Lincoln's rustic Helen Boosalis Park. From I-80 take the 56th Street Exit and turn right onto Superior Street to 44th Street.

The facility is a youth and family destination for exciting educational programs in outdoor skills including hunting, shooting, boating education and general shooting sports recreation.

Outdoor Ranges

  • Target Archery, 10-60 yards
  • Field Archery Course, 20 stations

Bring your own equipment or rent equipment.  We offer individual instruction to get you started and youth as well as adult archery equipment and .22  rifles.

Indoor Ranges

  • Firearm Range – 25 yards
  • Rifles up to 30/06 Springfield
  • Handguns up to 44 Remington Magnum
  • Archery Range
  • 25 meters
    • Bullseye targets
    • 3D targets
    • Crossbow target

Red Willow Reservoir 

Red Willow State Recreation Area is located 11 miles north of McCook in Frontier County.  It has 2,986 acres with 1,628 acres of water.   Red Willow has an outdoor archery range with 20 bag targets which is located north of Willow View Campground and west of the park headquarters.

Pawnee State Recreation Area

Pawnee SRA is located 2 north and 3 west of Emerald in Lancaster County.  Pawnee is the second largest lake in the Salt Valley with 2,544 acres with 740 water acres.  Pawnee has 6 outdoor targets open year round in the northwest corner of Area 3.  Area 3 at Pawnee is west of NW 126th street.  Archers will need to bring their own equipment. 402-796-2362

Bluestem State Recreation Area 

Bluestem SRA is 3 miles west of Sprague in Lancaster County.  Bluestem is part of the Salt Valley Lakes and is 742 acres with 325 acres of water.  Bluestem has 3 outdoor targets open year round in Area 3 which is west of boat ramp parking lot.  Archers will need to bring their own equipment.
