Archery has caught fire in Nebraska and you don't have to look very far to find a place to try it out, improve your skills or just shoot some arrows. There are lots of options because of the many clubs, groups and organizations that hold programs across the state.

• National Archery in the Schools
This is the largest archery program in the state with about 25,000 Nebraska students expected to take part this school year. This international, target archery program is in-school curriculum for 4-12th grades which culminates in the State Tournament each March. Special grants for your school are available – contact us.
• Platte River State Park – Outdoor Heritage Complex
The Roger G. Sykes Outdoor Heritage Education Complex features a 50-yard archery range complete with shooting tower. It is open late April-Mid October and is staffed with instructors waiting to help.
• Outdoor Expo's - Missouri River & Ft. Kearny
These two public events showcase plenty of archery opportunities for the family including bullseye, 3D and even aerial targets. Dates for the Expo's can be found on our website.
• Nebraska Bowhunter Education
If you want try your luck as a bow hunter be sure to check out Bowhunter Education where you will learn the basics of equipment, hunting strategies and how to safely pursue big game. This course is required of all hunters using a bow and arrow in Nebraska that hunt deer, antelope, elk and mountain (bighorn) sheep.
• Mentor Youth Bowhunting Program
A great program for those that have completed Bowhunter Education, are in middle or high school and are in need of a mentor. Hunters are paired with mentors in their area for a full season of bowhunting and much more.
• 4-H Archery Clubs
Nebraska is lucky to have a very active 4-H Shooting Sports program with lots of archery clubs for those 10 & up. In fact, the National 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational is hosted in Grand Island with recurve and compound archery competitions.
• Junior Olympic Archery Development(JOAD)
Several Nebraska archery clubs hold JOAD programs for ages 8-20 that allow youth to learn the skills needed to become a proficient archer with recurve and compound. These local programs are part of the larger USA Archery which selects the members of the US Olympic Archery Team.
• Adult Archery Program
USA Archery also offers an Adult program that can be found at several Nebraska archery clubs.

This online program allows you to enjoy hunting, shooting, camping and fishing pathways while giving you recognition for completing each level of outdoor pursuits.
Youth Outdoor skills Camps
Come join us this summer for a series of outdoor camps for youth ages 11-15 at a 4-H camp near you. You will enjoy hunting and shooting sports along with learning a host of outdoor skills.
• Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Program
This program provides adult women, ages 18 or older, a unique camp experience the first weekend in October at the Bessey Division of the Nebraska National Forest near Halsey. Archery and many other outdoor skills await.
Join us for a fun-filled camp for the whole family where archery and the shooting sports, along with fishing and boating are the key components for the weekend.

NEBRASKAland Outdoor Education Center – Lincoln
The new Lincoln Shooting Complex and Education Center is currently under construction at 44th and Superior St., in Lincoln, NE. A grand opening is planned for May, 2014. The new Educational Complex will be a youth and family destination for numerous educational programs in one spot.
